I went to see the World Press Photo Exhibition last night at the State Library of NSW in Sydney – an incredible display of very powerful images. They say a picture is worth a thousand words – if the walls of that exhibition could speak they would be sobbing.
Jodi Bieber’s portrait was selected as the World Press Photo of the year for 2010.
The portrait is of Bibi Aisha, an 18 year old Afghani girl who was disfigured in a cultural retribution attack for fleeing her husband’s house in Oruzgan province.
